Have you ever tried to play pickup in your neighborhood and felt like the teams were unfair? Maybe there was one player whose skills far exceeded everyone else’s. Maybe there was a player who tried his best but just couldn’t keep up with the rest. Sports don’t hit the same when one team is clearly better than another. That’s what makes games competitive. As much as we love pickup sports for bringing us together, this is what we are here to solve. Spire eliminates this by aiming to even the playing fields. If teams had players of equal skill level, competition and thrill thrive.
What if you moved to a new city (or even country!) and didn’t know how to get involved in the sports in your area? In our world today people are relocating more than ever. Transplants make up a core, integral, part of our communities and local sport leagues have failed these people. Joining these leagues requires us to form and organize as teams before we can compete. What if we don’t know anyone in our new city to play with? What if we don’t know 6 people? How do we join these 6v6 leagues? How do we participate? With Spire, you don’t need to know anybody to join a league. Simply sign up as an individual, and we will pair you with other local players who are ready to compete! Have a friend or two you want to play with? Great! Queue up as a duo, or trio, and we will fill the rest!

We want our players to have the best experience possible when it comes to playing sports. We’re a team of avid sport enthusiasts, and over the years we’ve laid witness to how local sport leagues have failed us. Playing with cheap balls, cheap shirts/jerseys, and refs who don’t know the game? All for what? To optimize cost efficiency while charging players an appalling amount of money up-front just to participate? That’s not how we operate. We put our players and their user-experience first.

What do we need to bring to each game?
Each player will need to scan their account code (in app) with our on-premise staff. Our team will provide the pennies, balls, cones, and goals for each game. Cleats are recommended but not required. Shin guards are recommended but not required.
What happens at the end of each ranked season?
At the end of each season, rewards will be given out to our players based on their final rank. Depending on which tier a player finishes at, this can be a personalized jersey, ball, trophy, or something more!
What is your pricing structure?
We offer various methods for users to play within our community. Playing in games will require tokens. We offfer different subscription tiers that provide our users with tokens every month. Whether you're looking to play several hours a week, or a couple hours a month, we have a subscription tier that fits your lifestyle. Additionally, we offer "pay as you go" alternatives where you can pay for individual tokens.
What if I cannot show up for a scheduled game?
We have a cancellation policy which allows players cancel up to 24 hours prior to game time. If you cancel less than 24 hours from your game's start time, you will not receive any penalty to your score, but your tokens will not be refundable.
What happens if someone else does not show up for a game?
If a player does not show up for the scheduled game(s), they will receive a penalty and arrangements will be made to accomodate. To protect the integrity of our league and player experience, we take absences very seriously. Please ensure that you are on time for each scheduled game.
What if I move to a different city?
Fortunately, our players can compete in any city or location where Spire is operating.
